The British Empire Medal (BEM) was awarded to Sergeant J. Arthur Turtle, a member of the Reconnaissance Corps, for his service in T Force at the end of the war. The BEM joined his 1939-45 Star, France and Germany Star and War Medal 1939-45.

T Force was part of a joint American-British Army mission to secure German scientific and industrial technology before it could be destroyed or taken by the Russians. German scientists were also seized and a number were later held for interrogation in Farm Hall, a country house at Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire.
