We would love for you to be able to Share the Secret with us but the museum is closed to visitors until further notice due to the Coronavirus.
When we return, you can discover what military intelligence is, what it does, how it is done and learn the stories of the men and women who make it happen.
Entry to this unique experience will be entirely FREE!

Arranging your visit
As the Military Intelligence Museum is located on an active Ministry of Defence base, to comply with the site's security regulations, all visits are by appointment only.
Visits can be booked by either calling 01462 814643
or by emailing us at
We ask for at least 3 working days notice to arrange a visit. Additional information on getting to the site and what to do upon arrival will be provided.
And remember, entry to the museum is entirely FREE of charge (although we do accept donations!)
You will be met on arrival and guided to the Museum. There are two steps up to the museum entrance. There is also a wheelchair ramp.
Visitors with specific access requirements are asked to let us know during the booking process so that we can take any necessary measures to assist.
The museum is arranged over a single floor so there are no internal stairs to negotiate. There is ample seating throughout.
We have male and female toilets but unfortunately, we do not have a disabled toilet.
Free Guided Tours
Although you are free to wander the museum on your own, FREE guided tours are offered to all visitors that are usually led by a military intelligence veteran who will help place the story in context and answer your questions.
Over the years, these tours have proven to be one of the most popular features of the museum experience and are highly recommended. And, if you ask, they may even tell you about their own experiences!
Family-friendly and group activities
Family-friendly trails and educational activities are available and we also welcome Cadets, Scouts, Guides and other youth organisations. Group visits are welcomed however, the group size is limited to no more than 50 persons. Coach parking is available.
Add an exciting element to your teaching by booking an educational visit to our Museum. We are committed to lifelong learning and offer a range of formal and informal educational activities for Key Stage 2 onwards.
All sessions and activities take place in the museum amongst our collections, offering a new and exciting way to learn about military intelligence.
Although we are still developing some new STEM sessions and activities, we do have the following sessions now available:
Code-breaking: History and Maths
Propaganda in Warfare: History and Art
How to Become a Spy: Language, History, and Science
Outreach sessions are also available and the above sessions can be adapted for classroom or external event use.
