Toctan HA, Catpain
On the outbreak of war Hilarion Aloysius Toctan and his family were living in Turkey but were evacuated to India where he joined the Lancashire Fusiliers before transferring to the Intelligence Corps in 1943. As Captain Toctan he was a Security Officer in Baghdad and also served in Karachi, Java and Singapore in security roles.
He was a keen member of the Intelligence corps Association and was the guardian of the Corps Wreath at the Cenotaph during the annual Service of Remembrance in Whitehall.
His medals are, left to right, the Defence Medal, General Service Medal with Clasp: S.E Asia 1945-46 and the War Medal.
