Awarded a Mention in Despatches in May 1940, a wounded Sergeant EA Mower was made a prisoner of war in May 1940 at Dunkirk whilst serving with the Royal Berkshire Regiment.
Sergeant mower was liberated in 1945 and, in 1946, transferred to the Intelligence Corps where he served in Field Security posts in the British Army of the Rhine (BAOR) until he left the Army in 1952.
