Lindsay RL, Sergeant

Lindsay RL, Sergeant

3771948 Sergeant R.L Lindsay saw service in World War 2 as evidenced by his medals group, which comprise, left to right: The 1939-45 Star, the France and Germany Star, the Defence Medal and the War Medal 1939-45.

His General Service Medal 1919-62 was issued during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II and has the Near East Clasp, signifying service in the Canal Zone during the 1956 crisis. The unmounted nature of this medal, and its pristine ribbon, are in stark contrast with the well-worn ribbons on his main group.
The medals were purchased with a grant from the Intelligence Corps Association.
