Vehicles

ex-BRIXMIS G-Wagen

  • The museum's Mercedes Benz Geländewagen was used as a tour vehicle by BRIXMIS during the Cold War.

  • When BRIXMIS was disbanded at the end of the Mission in 1991, the vehicle was used by Berlin-based units until it was taken out of service in 1993.

  • It was then gifted to the National Army Museum by the MOD.

  • In 2005 the vehicle was gifted to the Military Intelligence museum.

  • As all other ex-BRIXMIS G-Wagens were crushed, our vehicle is the sole surviving, genuine, ex BRIXMIS tour G-Wagen.

  • The RAF Museum at Cosford holds the sole surviving ex-BRIXMIS Opel Senator tour vehicle.

  • An aircraft used by BRIXMIS, a de Havilland Chipmunk, is used by the the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight as a training aircraft.
