Sergeant Albert Long MM was awarded the Military Medal on 19th March 1918 for his attempt to save Lieutenant Cheeseman, an Intelligence Officer, and 4 others trapped in a shell hole near Passchendaele. He was awarded a Bar to the Military Medal for saving a wounded soldier on 16th September 1918. His other medals are the 1914-15 Star, the War Medal and Victory Medal.
