All very welcome but please note that the Museum is located inside a gated military camp and all visits are therefore by prior appointment only.

Arranging Your Visit

Visitors are very welcome. However, because the museum is located on a working military unit, all visits are by appointment only. Once a visit is arranged, visitors are required to bring a valid passport or current UK driving licence with them and 'book in' at the guardroom from where they will be escorted to the museum.

There are two steps to the front door, but if required, there is a ramp at the side of the building suitable for wheelchair access. There are soft chairs in every room so that visitors can sit and relax whilst listening to a tour guide or just contemplating a display.

Please allow two hours for your visit. It is not a large museum, but there are a lot of things to see. For children we have created a trail to follow around the museum, answering questions and cracking the code! We also have a code breaking interactive in the front room along with some quizzes about objects in the museum. When families book a visit to the museum we won't book any other visitors in at the same time so families can have the museum to themselves!

Booking Your Visit

Please contact the museum on 01462 814643 (Office hours are between 9.00 and 17.00 Hrs) or by emailing to book a visit. Once a date has been agreed to visit the museum, museum staff will then send a Visitor Form for all visitors to fill out with the following information:

  • Name
  • Nationality
  • Car details
  • Email address and/or telephone number
  • Additional information may be requested (ie Passport Number or Photographic Driving Licence Number)

The Museum will collect and use an appropriate amount of information to enable a visit to the Museum which is on an MOD controlled site. MOD site security regulations require that this data is provided to allow visits.

This data will be shared with the Guardroom (except contact details), Museum staff, and volunteers (group or individual’s name only.)

The Museum has certain principles it must abide by under GDPR. So expect your personal data to be:

  • Processed lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner
  • Collected for specified, explicit and legitimate purposes
  • Adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary
  • Accurate, and where necessary, kept up to date
  • Retained only as long as necessary
  • Processed in an appropriate manner to maintain security

The Military Intelligence Museum will not pass on your details to any third party without your consent.

IMPORTANT: Remember to bring Photo ID (Passport or Driving License). If you don't have a passport or UK driving lincence, please email us or speak to a member of the museum staff about alternative forms of identification.
