Although much of the British Army became garrison troops following the German surrender in 1945, the role of Intelligence continued as witnessed by the award of the British Empire Medal in 1946 to Warrant Officer Class 2 CF Weaver for meritorious service on Field Security Duties. His other medals are the France and Germany Star and the Defence Medal.
