In common with many others who continued to service following the Great War, WF Jeffries rose to high rank during the Second World War, reaching the rank of Brigadier. His service earned him high honours with the award of the CBE by Great Britain and the order of the Redeemer by Greece, these being decoration worn as next jewels.
