Being located on an MOD base presents a number of limitations to public access and it is our intention to make our collections much more accessible.
To that end, we have been looking for a site off the MOD estate that will allow us to build an entirely new, larger, more accessible museum.
The current preferred option is a Second World War-era building at Milton Bryan, a building with great historical importance and its own fascinating military intelligence story to tell.
During the war it was the Top Secret black propaganda broadcasting centre of the Political Warfare Executive, spreading false information through Nazi-occupied Europe.
It has lain unused and increasingly derelict ever since, but we aim to change that.
